The Roger Billcliffe Gallery in Glasgow is set to close permanently on the 31st of December 2025.  Originally founded as The Fine Art Society before becoming the Billcliffe Gallery in 1992, it has long been a home for contemporary Scottish artists, a place where emerging voices and established names have shared walls, conversations, and creative energy.

For me, the gallery has been part of my artistic journey from the very beginning. When I graduated from art school, they were among the first to offer me opportunities to exhibit. That early support mattered more than I can express. It gave me momentum, confidence, and a sense of belonging in the professional art world. Over the years, every invitation to show work there felt like a continuation of that trust. I’ve always felt proud to see my paintings on their walls.

The final exhibition ‘Farewell’, running until the 24th of December, is both a celebration and a goodbye.  To be included in this final show is deeply meaningful. It’s a chance to stand alongside fellow artists who have also been shaped by the gallery’s legacy, and to honour the space that supported us.
